About New York Textile Lab
New York Textile Lab is a design and consulting company working with regional fiber producers, mills, and designers to develop Climate Beneficial™ yarns and textiles for commercial production. Focused on product development, material sourcing, and regenerative design practices, NYTL works closely with farms implementing carbon farming practices across New York State.
NYTL envisions a textile industry that grows from abundant, regenerative systems grounded in collective thinking, care for land, and shared responsibility. They believe textile production can thrive through collaboration and ecological stewardship by replacing extraction, scarcity, and competition with interconnected regional systems that support both people and the planet.
Carbon Farm Network
As the founding and managing member of the New York Carbon Farm Network, NYTL supports collaborative sourcing models that help independent designers and small brands access regionally grown fibers and transparent manufacturing relationships.
Organized as a purchasing cooperative, the Carbon Farm Network enables members to collaborate in sourcing fibers and developing yarns for commercial textile production. By pooling resources and purchase orders, designers are able to meet the minimum requirements for producing New York State Climate Beneficial™ Verified yarn, supporting higher-quality materials, more accessible pricing, and greater reliability for small batch production.
