About New York Textile Lab

New York Textile Lab works to build a more diverse and regenerative textile supply ecosystem by connecting designers with regional fiber producers, mills, and carbon farming practices. Through design, consulting, and collaborative sourcing models, NYTL supports socially and environmentally responsible material choices rooted in transparency and regional connection.

NYTL envisions a textile industry that grows from abundant, regenerative systems grounded in collective thinking, care for land, and shared responsibility. They believe textile production can thrive through collaboration and ecological stewardship by replacing extraction, scarcity, and competition with interconnected regional systems that support both people and the planet.

Carbon Farm Network

New York Textile Lab is the founding and managing member of the New York Carbon Farm Network, a cooperative of small brands and independent designers sourcing Climate Beneficial™ fibers from farms implementing carbon farming practices on their land.

Organized as a purchasing cooperative, the Carbon Farm Network enables members to collaborate in sourcing fibers and developing yarns for commercial textile production. By pooling resources and purchase orders, designers are able to meet the minimum requirements for producing New York State Climate Beneficial™ Verified yarn, supporting higher-quality materials, more accessible pricing, and greater reliability for small batch production.
